THE ISLE TEAM NICK BROWN Director Nick Brown. Previously of international architects AHR Global, Nick has had a range of experience in large public and private sector projects around the UK. Nick is MD of Nick Brown Architects, co-founder of Citylife Developments that currently has a portfolio of £120 million in development, and co-founded Lothian Leisure, the developers of The Edinburgh International Arena, a new 15,000 capacity indoor arena for the Scottish capital. Nick has invested significant time in developing the design principles needed to create and deliver a highly efficient, hugely successful and visually attractive State-of-the-art arena. As well as the experience of Nick Brown Architects, Nick also has a strong connection to Pozzoni Architecture Ltd who bring National expertise in the sport and leisure sectors including an advisory role to Sport England. Through ISLE, Nick’s role is to advise and bring to the table the extensive experience and skills required for each opportunity and project we work on, managing the design process and team to deliver the best solution for each and every site. This would also include the proactive liaison with locally based consultants and team members. DAVE FOWLER Director Dave Fowler. Based in Luxembourg, Dave has 25 years music and entertainment experience in companies including Walt Disney, Sky, Universal, Ministry of Sound, Creative Entertainment and Capital Artists. Dave was responsible for many historic international concerts throughout Europe, Eastern Europe and the Middle East including George Michael (Moscow and Kiev), Beyonce Knowles at (Moscow), Dame Kiri Te Kanawa (Moscow), Carlos Santana (Dubai), Sir Elton John (Dubai), The Who (Swansea), Jose Carreras (UEFA, Lucerne) and and Doudou (Beijing). Dave has consulted for music brands EMI (Positiva/Additive), Strategic Asia, Creative Entertainment, the Fortdance Festival (Saint Petersburg), Tomorrowland (Barcelona) and Blanco y Negro Music (Spain). Dave assisted the McKinsey Futurists for Dubai Expo 2020 and co-founded Lothian Leisure, the developers of The Edinburgh International Arena, a new 15,000 capacity indoor arena for the Scottish capital. OBI ASIKA Director (Isle West Africa) Obi Asika. Lagos-based Obi was a partner for ISl Worldwide for FIFA/CAF 1999-2003, and for rights management for FIFA U20 1999 (Nigeria) and the Africa Cup of Nations 2000 jointly hosted by Nigeria/Ghana. Obi is a board member of Sport Nigeria, and of the Nigerian Olympic Committee and co-produced Soccerex West Africa with Lagos State FA in 2012. He has also been Vice-Chairman of a Nigerian NPLF side, Kwara United (2003-2005) and led the Technical Working Group for Culture, creative industries for the Nigeria National Development Plan (2020-2050) and retains long term relationships with regional governments, agencies, brands, investors and developers. Obi also has 30 years experience in African creative industries: he founded Storm records, which led the globalisation of Nigerian music. He has created and produced myriad music festivals, TV shows and also licensed and produced global formats. He established and ran Endemol West Africa and executive produced a slew of hits including The Apprentice Africa, Dragons Den Nigeria, 100% Naija, All Access Africa for Channel O. Obi continues to impact the sports and emerging economies as a member of the Presidential Advisory Committee that developed and passed the Nigerian Start Up Bill and continues to advocate for these emerging sectors of the economy as one of the key thoughtleaders, policy leaders, speakers and actors across these sectors. DEREK PEARSON Director (Isle Philippines) Derek Pearson. A lifelong entrepreneur, Derek started his career as an engineer in the British mining industry before launching a chain of financialservices businesses throughout the UK. Working alongside key HNWs throughout the UK, Derek then set up a series of high value companies before specialising in land acquisition and property development. Stand-out property developments from Derek include Oakwell Business Park in South Yorkshire, Grantley Hall in North Yorkshire, the Earth Centre in Conisbrough and Balilff House in Brighouse. A specialist in achieveing planning permission in major developments, Derek has been responsible for many hundreds of thousands of m2 of light industry development, in excess of 5000 homes and over 50 hotels. He has also collaborated with most of the UK’s blue chip housebuilders. Derek also provides consulting to start up services and is a distressed business turnaround specialist, in addition to specialising in selling off market hotels, companies and other major assets. He has advised on many large development schemes internationally from seed funding to completion and has excellent relationships with key partners throughout Southeast Asia.
